Thank you for visiting my website!

My name is Silvia Sanasi – I am an Assistant Professor in Strategy and Entrepreneurship at the Department of Economics and Management of the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy, where I teach the course "Design Thinking and Prototyping" in the Master of Science in Entrepreneurship and Innovation, and "Case Study Research" within the joint Ph.D. Program in Management with the University of Trento.

I received my Ph.D. (cum laude) from Politecnico di Milano’s School of Management in 2022. My PhD dissertation, titled "Business model experimentation. A scientific approach to strategy and entrepreneurship" was selected as a finalist for the Outstanding Dissertation Award of the Academy of Management's STR division.

I am also part of the Extended faculty at the POLIMI Graduate School of Management, where I teach within executive, corporate, and specializing programs. I also teach Design Thinking at USI - Università della Svizzera italiana.
Between 2020 and 2021, I have been a visiting researcher at the Institute of Innovation Management and the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

I hold a B.Sc. in Architecture and Urban Studies and a M.Sc. in Management Engineering with a major in design management, innovation, and entrepreneurship from Politecnico di Milano.

Outside academia, I am an outdoor sports enthusiast and an avid traveler. To date, I’ve explored 41 countries—from Alaska's icy landscapes to Japan's vibrant culture (and delicious food)—and I look forward to discovering many more.
